Introduction
The Rural Development and Land Management Ltd. of Alsó-Berettyó formed in 2007, it's main profile is the breeding of grazing herd, meadow usage, and by cultivating arable plants, self-sufficiency. Besides that it also deals with lease keeping, leaping and breeding. Today we manage more than 100 hectares of meadow land, 15 hectares of tillage, many owned and lease kept grazing cattle, such as Shagya Arabs and Furioso North Star horses, Hungarian Simmentals, racka and merino sheep.
In 2008 we were able to buy one ubit of an animal keeping barn in "Csejt" puszta (National Protected Area), and in 2010, the other unit of it. And we hope that besides the barn we will have the chance to rent area too. We are planning to utilize and manage this agricultural unity during the grazing season by herding horses on the site.
Currently our farming takes places in the nearby "Hidegnevelde" since 2006, which is owned by Herman Ottó Természetvédő Kör (Herman Ottó Nature Preservation Club), member of the Ltd. This is the centre of our management, and next to the barn the Pásztó puszta, the land of our management is located, which is also serves as our commonage area.Pásztó puszta is an approximately 350 hectare meadow, whereas besides our organization others also farm in cooperation with us, working together regarding the nature-friendly handling. We believe, that we can keep up our activities with growing numbers, and we can contribute to the proper handling of meadows, as well as to help saving the genes of indigenous animals.
